I like to do things myself

By Franzman Apr 19, 2021 | 7:54 AM

This ‘Automation’ on nearly everything is starting to irritate me. I am perfectly capable of texting with out the suggestions and incorrect ‘corrections‘ from Samsung. Many cars today beep at you every time you put it in reverse…all this is doing is desensitizing us to warnings, and pissing me off. When I back out of my driveway, the Ford Irritant beeps, and mutes the radio when I pass the honey suckle bush. This is not change for the better in my opinion.

What is the push for automated, driverless cars? Check out this headline:

Two men died after a Tesla vehicle, which was believed to be operating without anyone in the driver’s seat, crashed into a tree on Saturday night north of Houston, authorities said. “There was no one in the driver’s seat,” Sgt. Cinthya Umanzor of the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said.

With this push towards speech recognition, predictive texting and driverless cars we are all losing more and more control and I don’t think I will ever allow myself to put my life in the hands of a driverless car. Just saying, it seems super-dangerous, unnecessary and foolish.
