accidental art

This table had a very unique blue matte finish that was similar to the living room of our house which is called ‘Smokehouse’. When we sold the house I found that the table’s color didn’t match anything in my new place so I painted it white with a yellow, dinnerplate size circle on the top. Within 3 days, I realized I absolutely hated the way it looked but as my sander was being repaired, there was nothing I can do to rectify the situation.

If memory serves me correctly it was the hour that I got my sander back that the saw dust was flying. I didn’t have a plan, I just wanted to start over. I knew there was unique blue under my white and yellow but I had no idea there was a red and maybe a green as well. Apparently this table had a number of lives and I decided to let them all coexist simultaneously. Maybe someday I’ll have the guts to sand further and see how it comes out but right now I think it’s accidental art. I’m happy with it. Plus with all those colors, it kinda goes with everything.
