Look, we all have enough experience to know that discussions on politics are not actually discussions but rather arguments. We are also experienced enough to know that you are not going to change anyone’s mind and likely they won’t change yours.
Therefore, I implore you: Out of respect for the person hosting Thanksgiving and the person who spent hours cooking and cleaning to have a beautiful day, do not talk politics at the table. If someone broaches the subject, don’t get involved. It’s inappropriate and disrespectful to the loving person who made a bird for you. No one will be impressed with your vast political knowledge.
