Nebraska sophomore center Cameron Jurgens was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List Wednesday. Named in honor of former Nebraska center and College Football Hall of Fame member Dave Rimington, the award is presented annually to the nation’s top center. The 6-3, 290-pound Jurgens started all 12 games at center for Nebraska last season.
Husker head coach Scott Frost took a $166,667 salary cut on top of the unspecified amount he donated back to the university. That figure appeared in a USA Today database of college football coaches’ salaries and was confirmed Wednesday by Nebraska. The reduction represents 3.3% of Frost’s annual $5-million dollar salary and falls in line with the four-month, 10% reduction all NU athletic department employees faced if they weren’t among the more than 50 employees furloughed for those months.

The Nebraska football program unveiled the road version of its “Blackshirts” alternate uniform during a two-minute horror film posted to social media on Tuesday. Aside from the helmet, which features a black facemask and decals, the alternate uniform is essentially the inverse of last year’s “Blackshirts” uniform.
The NCAA Volleyball Championship is returning to Omaha in 2022. The NCAA announced that decision Wednesday. The University of Nebraska and the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA) will host the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship at the CHI Health Center Omaha. Omaha has served as the most frequent host of the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball championship, previously hosting the event in 2006, 2008 and 2015. Omaha was scheduled to host again this December, but that event has been postponed until April 23-25. The NCAA has not yet officially announced if Omaha will remain as the host site this spring.
One day after it was announced, the Ohio State game watch party at Pinnacle Bank Arena has been called off due to COVID-19 concerns.
