Kearney Elks Prescription Drug Take-Back Program

By Elizabeth Macias Oct 28, 2022 | 11:42 AM

The Kearney Elks will be holding a Prescription Drug Take-Back Program Saturday October 29.

The program is the best way to properly dispose any unused or expired prescription drugs in the home. Prescription drugs should not be flushed down the drain.

It is also a preventative measure to keep prescription drugs out of reach of kids or loved ones who may have a substance abuse problem and prevent overdose.

Last year, the Elks gathered over 400lbs of prescription drugs from around the area that was properly disposed of.

The event is free and anonymous.

The program will run from 10am to 2pm at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital M-shaped parking lot.

The Prescription Drug Take-Back Program is held in conjunction with the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.
