Little sluggers get ready to register for indoor youth baseball league


            Grand Island, Neb.— The City of Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department announces registration is open for the indoor youth baseball league for boys and girls ages four to eight.

A t-ball option will be offered for the four to five year olds and coach pitch baseball for six to eight year olds.

The league will run from Tuesday, March 14, through Thursday, April 27. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

The goal of this league is to teach baseball safety, sportsmanship, and skill development. In addition, participants will be a jump on the summer season with organized games and practices in an indoor facility.

Registration is $55 per child and is due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. The registration cost includes team practice time at the Fieldhouse.  Reversible sports jerseys are available at a one-time cost of $10 and can be used for every Fieldhouse youth league.
