Third session of adult volleyball leagues forming at the Fieldhouse
Grand Island, Neb.— It’s volleyball time again at the Community Fieldhouse. Competitive and recreational leagues for both coed and women’s divisions are now forming.
The third session of league play will run from Monday, March 13 through Thursday, April 27. All games are played at the Community Fieldhouse, 525 E. Fonner Park Road.
Teams can expect to play six games this session and receive two one-hour practice sessions. The following schedule will be observed:
-Mondays—coed power league—4v4, men can spike, no paid official
-Tuesdays—women’s league 6v6
-Wednesdays—women’s league 6v6
-Thursdays—coed league—6v6, men are not allowed to spike
Each team may have up to 12 players on a roster. A team may have a maximum of six players and a minimum of four players participating on the court at any given time. Players must be 18 years or older and out of high school. Participants may play on only one team per night. Awards will be given to top teams.
Registration form and a minimum $50 deposit, which is applied to the total league fee, are due Friday, Feb. 10. Teams deciding not to play after the deadline will forfeit the deposit. Monday leagues have no officials with a team registration fee of $70; all other team fees are $140. The full league fee is due by the second game.
Checks and the registration form can be dropped off at the Parks and Recreation office at Grand Island City Hall, 100 E. First St. or at the Community Fieldhouse, 525 E. Fonner Park Road.
