Insurance survey results show smarter cars are resulting in dumber driving

A recent online survey conducted by State Farm insurance found Americans driving vehicles with advanced driver assist features admit to using their smart phones at higher rates than those without the same technology.

62% of people with advanced driver assist features admitted to reading or sending messages while driving vs. 49% without those features. 56% of people with the features interact with phone apps vs 42% that don’t have them.

Drivers are advised to stay engaged behind the wheel as these features assist the driver, not replace them.
